Changes coming to CINAHL and other EBSCO databases
Thursday, 25 June, 2026
Health and social care staff across Scotland will notice changes to CINAHL and all other databases provided by EBSCO from 14 July 2026.
The content will remain the same, but how it looks as well as how you search, navigate and manage your saved items and searches will be different. Changes to layouts and filtering intend to make it quicker and easier to find and access information within some of our most used resources.
We provide access to a range of EBSCO databases from The Knowledge Network, including:
- CINAHL
- Health Business Elite
- Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA)
- Nursing and Allied Health Reference Source (NAHRS)
Do I need to do anything?
Mostly, no. However, if you have any folders set up for saved references in an EBSCO database, you may wish to take some action.
Your previous saved searches and records will still be available, but any custom folders you have created to manage these will not be migrated. See the guidance section below for links to help, including how to download and recreate your folders.
