Changes to EBSCO databases
From The Knowledge Network, we provide access to a range of EBSCO databases for health and social care staff in Scotland:
- CINAHL
- Health Business Elite
- Library, Information Science and Technology Abstracts
- Nursing and Allied Health Reference Source (NAHRS)
From 14th July 2026, EBSCO will move all of their databases to a new interface - the content is the same but how it looks, as well as how you search, navigate and manage saved records and searches will be different.
This page includes links to guidance and training in one place to help you navigate the changes, as well as a link to all of our databases below.
Do I need to do anything?
Mostly, no. However, if you have any folders set up for saved references in an EBSCO database, you may wish to take some action.
Your previous saved searches and records will still be available, but any custom folders you have created to manage these will not be migrated. See the guides section below for links to help, including how to find and migrate your saved content from the new interface.
Basic and advanced training for health and social care in Scotland will be available in July and August 2026. Check back for updates or subscribe to our Knowledge Nuggets newsletter.
In the meantime you can find general training videos and sessions available to all staff below.
Your NHS Scotland Library Service can support you to use databases. Contact them to find out more: Local Library Services | The Knowledge Network
Or contact our PSD Scotland Knowledge Services Help Desk.
