NES Launches New Digital Sustainability Resource

Monday, 02 March, 2026

The NES Climate and Sustainability Action Community (Ambassadors Network) has developed a Sway to help staff better understand the environmental impact of digital activity and artificial intelligence.

Digital tools are a core part of how we work, but they also contribute to our overall carbon footprint. This new resource aims to support colleagues in making informed, sustainable choices in their day‑to‑day digital practices.

This resource offers practical guidance and tips on reducing your digital carbon footprint. It also features a short video from Kristi Long (Knowledge Services team), who explains some of the challenges involved in assessing the carbon footprint of digital technologies and AI systems.

Visit the Sway to see how your everyday digital actions can become more sustainable.
