Finding information lunch and learn - new dates now available!

NES Knowledge services are pleased to Introduce a new beginner level Finding Information series delivered over three short focused sessions.

Previously run as six intermediate sessions, this updated series is ideal if you are new to searching for information, want a refresher of the basics or feel unsure about where to start.

Each bitesize lunch and learn session will run for 40 minutes plus time for questions.

Register for all or any of the sessions you are interested in attending. You will receive an individual email and joining link for each session.

📅Wednesday 29th April 1pm

Getting started – what do you need to know?
This session will get you thinking about what information you need, what you are going to do with that information, and where you should start your search. It will also help you analyse your question to identify key concepts and search terms.

📅Wednesday 6th May 1pm

Getting started with The Knowledge Network
This session will cover the basics of how to access the full range of resources available to NHS Scotland staff via The Knowledge Network digital library. It will also get you started with top tips for running a more focused search to find journals, articles and eBooks using The Knowledge Network Library Search.

📅Wednesday 13th May 1pm

Beyond The Knowledge Network
Searching for information on the web can be tricky. This session will give you top tips to get to the information you need more quickly, including how to get the best out of generative AI tools like Copilot. It will also introduce some tools to help you evaluate the information you find.
