Searches, results, and reference export

You can save items and searches to an area in your library account called My Favourites.

You must be signed in with your OpenAthens account to access this area.

My Favourites is found either by choosing the pin icon ( Pin icon ) at the top of the page or clicking on your name to access your account.

Add an item to my favourites

In the results list you will see that each record has a pin icon.

Click the pin icon and it will change to show it has been pinned and a line will appear across the pin.

Remove an item from my favourites

Click again to remove the item from My Favourites.

Saving a search

When you have run your search you will see an option at the top of the results list to save the query.

A yellow bar will appear to confirm your query has been saved to your favourites and give you the option to 'turn on notifications for the query'

Selecting this option will open a pop-up box where you can enter your email address to receive alerts whenever there's an update. This should automatically show the email address associated with your OpenAthens account. Edit if necessary, then select Save.

To view your saved searches later, click the pin icon at the top right of the screen.

Saved searches are in My Favourites in the "Saved Searches" tab.

From here you can rerun searches, unpin (remove) them or set up alerts by clicking the bell icon.

Exporting results

You can export multiple or individual references from your saved results.

To export multiple references select the results you wish to export from the list in my favourites.

Using the three ellipses (…) option at the top of the list choose the option that you wish to use to export your results.

You can use the three ellipses (…) option to export individual references from the item record.

Create item labels

When in My Favourites there is an option to add labels at the bottom of each save record.

A drop down will appear and you can either use a label you have already by clicking on the plus (+) sign or by typing a new title.

The label will be on the item record.

The label will also appear in the list on the right hand side of the results.

You can filter the references by clicking on the label.
